The Hidden Diary Chapter 6 - Unmasking the Killer

After a half-hour journey, they reached Dharavi. There, they asked some local people for directions and eventually arrived at Arvind Patil’s office. Taking a seat in the nearby restaurant, Ravi spoke up, “Okay, guys, we're here. The office is open now. One of us should go inside and find this David.” Daniel asked, “But how?”   Ravi then started explaining, “It's simple. Two of us will go into the office and ask what documents are required for an income certificate. In the meantime, look for the person; we'll have just a few seconds. One will try to extend the conversation for 30 seconds while the other looks for him.” Without a second thought, Maya and Ismael volunteered.   So Maya and Ismael went to execute the plan. On their way, they decided that Maya would escalate the time and Ismael would find the person. They both entered Arvind Patil’s office; tension was evident on each of their faces, but their steady determination paved their way. As soon as they en...

The Hidden Diary Chapter 5 - The Investigation

The next day, the five of them gathered inside Aditya’s home to discuss their next steps. Aditya began, “So yesterday after our discussion, I checked the surrounding cameras of that area. Hardly were there 4 cameras. I got visuals of a van and Shruthi, but other than that, nothing more interesting. Also, I sent the sketch work to headquarters. Hopefully, we will receive some good news soon.”   After hearing this, Ismael responded, “So, what can we do next?” Aditya replied, “I've already collected some missing person cases aged 50 and above reported in the past 3 months. Around 8 missing cases were reported in Mumbai city. So, we will divide ourselves into 3 teams to reduce our workload. Ravi and Maya will form one team, Daniel and Ismael another team, and I will be the third team.” Aditya then assigned the missing cases to each team.   Continuing, he said, “Okay, try to contact them either personally or by phone. Find out reasons why they went missing. We aim ...

The Hidden Diary Chapter 4 - The Key to the Mystery

After they came out of Shruthi’s house, we see all five of them heading somewhere. There was a silent breeze moving across the five of them. But the silence was broken by Maya, “Brother, why didn’t you tell Uncle that we found the diary?” Daniel also raised the same question, “Yeah bro, why did you hide that?” Aditya, with his calm sternness, looked at them. After a few moments, he spoke, “So what are you expecting me to do? Tell Uncle that we found her diary, giving them a sudden shock right now? You know all what they were going through. In this case, giving them hope is like playing a 50-50 game until we find out the whole truth. You all are going to remain silent regarding this with them. Understand?” All four of them felt okay with Aditya's words, so everyone agreed with him.   Aditya also asked, “Daniel, how did you know that diary could be there?” Daniel responded, “It is nothing but a hunch, bro. Shruthi is an anime-watcher and her favourite anime was Death N...

The Hidden Diary Chapter 3 - The Hint

The timeline swiftly shifts to the present, where Ravi, Ismael, Maya, and Daniel enter a street. As they enter, Daniel asks Maya, "Are you sure this is the place where that man lived?" Maya, with a determined nod, responds to Daniel, "Yes, this is the place." As they proceed, Ravi asks, "But how will we find his house?" Ismael responds, "Let's ask from the nearby houses." With a stern intention, they decide to locate this man. While inquiring about the man's location, their attention is caught by a funeral poster hanging on a nearby wall.     The atmosphere grew heavy as they read the details on the poster – it was the same man who had tried to harass Maya during that bus incident. Their eyes couldn’t believe what was in front of them. They approached one of the residents on the street, from whom they learned that the person had suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away. Shocked and perplexed, Ravi, Ismael, Maya, and Daniel stood in ...

The Hidden Diary Chapter 2 - Past Conflict

Later that day, Ishmael found himself sprawled on his bed, lost in a treasure trove of memories about his days with Shruthi. As he daydreamed, one memory shone brighter than the rest. It was a sunny October day, and Ishmael's classmates were all busy cramming for their upcoming semester exams. Notably, Daniel, Ravi, and Maya were missing in action. In this studious setting, Shruthi was the epitome of focus, buried deep in her books.   On the other hand, Ishmael was mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, wasting time like a pro. His thumb finally landed on a meme that cracked him up, and he couldn't help but share the hilarious find with Shruthi. Their laughter echoed in the room, forging a silent connection between them. After that Shruthi asked in sign language, “Ishmael, why aren't you hitting the books? What's your excuse?”   Ibrahim then replied, “See Shruthi, I have been trying to understand concept for past two weeks. But nothing going inside my head, so I ...
