Love Came After Memories Chapter 6 - The Real Ending

The following day, around 5 p.m., Leena had just four hours left until her boarding time. The evening sky was quite delusional, with both the sun and moon visible. Similarly, Leena was in a delusional state, questioning whether her decision was right or wrong. Her memory loss had made her life difficult, leaving her without memories of the past or an understanding of the present.   In this state of confusion, she was packing her bags in her room when Prabhakaran walked in. His usually cherished, blooming face was quite dull, like the sun. He slowly called out to her in a sad tone, “Mom.” Hearing his voice, Leena felt a sharp pain, knowing she was about to walk away from his life in a few hours. Yet, she turned around with a fake smile.   With that smile, she welcomed him, “What happened, Prabha?” Prabhakaran, with an innocent face, asked, “Mom, are you going to India?” Leena responded with a lie in a sweet tone, “Yes, it’s just a few days’ trip. I’ll be back s...

Love Came After Memories Chapter 5 - Dilemma of Past and Present

The day was Sunday, even though it was summer. The clouds were blocking the sunlight from reaching the ground. Amidst this scenario, we see Leena in her bedroom, engrossed in a video call with her best friend Agnes.   As the screen radiated the soft glow of the phone light, Agnes appeared, her eyes reflecting a sense of solemnity. “Leena, is this your final decision?” she asked, her voice carrying a tone of concern. Leena nodded solemnly. “Yes, it is,” she confirmed, her expression tinged with uncertainty.   Agnes posed a valid question, her voice gentle yet probing. “Do you think that leaving everything will solve your problems?” she inquired, her words laced with a sense of skepticism. Leena sighed, feeling the weight of Agnes's question. “Agnes, don't ask me that. I don't even know what I'm doing anymore,” she confessed, her voice filled with frustration and confusion.   Agnes tried to make her understand, speaking in a gentle tone. “Leena, understand it w...

Love Came After Memories Chapter 4 - Trying to Lead New Life

We saw Leena and Prabhakaran watching television in the living hall. At that moment, Vijay entered the living hall. He noticed that Prabhakaran, engrossed in the cartoon playing on the screen, barely acknowledged Vijay's presence. Silently, he signalled for Leena to come out of the living hall. Leena silently complied, and Vijay then led her to the kitchen.   As they reached the kitchen, Leena asked, “Why did you ask me to come here?” Vijay responded, “First, take a seat. I have a surprise for you.” Leena responded, “What’s that?” Vijay said, “Take a seat first.” Leena took a seat and asked, “Now tell me what the surprise is?” Vijay handed over the phone to her and said, “Your mom is on the video call. Attend it.”   As Leena took the phone from Vijay, she felt a surge of emotion knowing that her mother was on the other end of the video call. Her hands were trembling; Vijay noticed that. “Leena, don’t be afraid. I will be in the living hall, don’t worry.” Leena nodde...

Love Came After Memories Chapter 3 - Past Love Story

The next day dawned with the warm sunlight bathing the city of Auckland. The light ushered in the new day, casting a hopeful glow across the landscape. It was 9 o'clock in the morning when Leena emerged from her slumber, greeted by the gentle rays of the sun. She made her way to the living hall and found Vijay already there. “Hi,” Vijay greeted her with a warm smile. “Good morning,” Leena replied, returning the smile. The atmosphere felt serene, a sense of tranquility enveloping them both as they welcomed the start of another day together.   Leena settled onto the sofa, engrossed in her phone, while Vijay approached with a cup of tea. “Here is your tea,” he offered with a warm smile. Leena thanked him and began sipping her tea contentedly. Mid-sip, she inquired, “Where is Prabha?” Vijay's smile softened as he replied, “He went to school.” Leena followed up, “Oh, what time does his school start?”   Vijay nodded as he replied, “His school timing is 9 o'clock. The scho...

Love Came After Memories Chapter 2 - Promise

After a two-hour-long nap, Leena woke up from her slumber. As she emerged from her nap, she pinched herself for a reality check. She still couldn’t believe that she lived a life she didn’t remember now. Her mind was like that of a person starting a journey in a new city or career. It was as if she were starting from scratch, with only fragments of memories to guide her.   Sitting up in bed, Leena gazed around the room, trying to piece together the unfamiliar surroundings. Everything felt strangely foreign, yet there was a faint sense of déjà vu lingering in the air. She could hear the faint sounds of daily life drifting in from downstairs, reminding her that she was not alone in this new reality. With a sigh, Leena swung her legs over the side of the bed and stood up, feeling a bit unsteady on her feet.   She walked over to the window and gazed out at the world beyond, feeling a mix of apprehension and curiosity about what lay ahead. Taking a deep breath, Leen...
